India’s Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) claims that it can save cash for the country if it adopts Open Source standards and software.

The BJP’s policy is remarkably similar to calls by other opposition groups in other countries who are looking for ways to save cash. There is also a backlash in many other countries over the handing out of expensive and ultimately unsuccessful IT contracts to a select range of firms.
